Public’s Help Sought in Identifying Two Men in Sketches

Related to Jonesboro Murder         

DECATUR – The Jonesboro Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are seeking the public’s help in identifying two men seen by a witness leaving the home of Geneva Strickland the night of October 31.  Strickland’s body was discovered in the early morning hours of November 1 by firefighters who had responded to the fire at Strickland’s residence on Fayetteville Road in Jonesboro.  

An autopsy at the GBI Crime Lab determined the manner of Strickland’s death to be homicide. The cause of death is not being released at this time due to the investigative value.

The man in the first sketch is described as a white male with a muscular build, 20 – 25 years of age, 5’ 5” tall with blond or light-colored, shoulder-length hair. He was wearing a black jacket and dark brown pants.

The second sketch is that of a black male, 25 – 30 years of age, and 5’ 7” – 5’ 8” tall.

The sketches were drawn by GBI Forensic artist Marla Lawson from the witness’s descriptions.
