ALMA- On Thursday, April 21, 2011, Alma Police Department Corporal Christopher Wayne Harlin was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) on one count of sexual assault of a person in custody. Harlin's arrest comes after Alma Police Department Chief Brandon Sellers requested the GBI to assist in the investigation wherein Harlin was alleged to have fondled a female inmate, 21 years of age, during the early morning hours of April 17, 2011. The female was an inmate at the Bacon County Jail.

Harlin, 39 years of age, has been with the Alma Police Department for approximately 13 years. He was booked in at the Bacon County Jail and has been released on bond.
