Reward Offered in Chattahoochee County Deaths
CUSSETA, GA – A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the deaths of Edward and Elaine Baker whose bodies were discovered August 9 in their burned residence in Cusseta.
On Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at approximately 2:51 a.m., fire officials responded to reports of a structure fire at 317 Firetower Road in Cusseta, Georgia. Upon distinguishing the fire, the remains of two bodies were discovered inside the residence. The bodies were sent to the GBI crime lab for autopsies where a medical examiner, using dental records, confirmed the identities as Edward and Elaine Baker.
Special Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the State Fire Marshal’s office, Chattahoochee County Fire Department, and the Chattahoochee County Sheriff’s Department are conducting the investigation as a homicide based upon findings during autopsy. The causes of death is not being released at this time.
