Lakeland, GA - On Sunday, July 7, 2013 at approximately 12:30 am, the Lakeland Police Department responded to the shooting of a man in a vehicle in front of 144 S. 8th Street, Lakeland, Georgia.  Jamie Latreronce Gaines, B/M, 38 years of age, was the driver of the vehicle and was found deceased after he was shot while driving which resulted in the vehicle crashing into a mailbox, fence, and a parked vehicle. The Lakeland Police Department requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Douglas office.

The GBI Crime Lab will be conducting an autopsy and no arrests have been made.
