Federal Arrests Made in Colquitt, Cook, and Tift Counties
Tifton, GA – Earlier this week federal arrest warrants were issued for Maurice Carter, age 34 , Andrew Carter, age 37, Lataris Waters, age 25, Diamond Carter, age, 19, Sarah Carter, age 59, Jose Martinez, age 39, Jessica Tellez, age 31, Kayla Carter, age 26, all of Omega, Georgia; Juan Sanchez Hildalgo, age 46, James Waters, age 51, Chris Waters, age 47, and Kenyatta Mitchell, age 31, all of Tifton, Georgia; and Pablo Cauves Sanchez age 53, of Dunwoody, GA. These individuals were indicted for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Cocaine Base.
The 15 count indictment is a result of a lengthy criminal investigation into this drug trafficking organization was initiated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Sylvester , Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Macon Office, and Mid - South Narcotics Task Force. This Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) transported and distributed multi kilograms of cocaine from the metro Atlanta area to Southwest GA.
This eight month long intensive investigation has resulted in the execution of eight search warrants in Tift, Cook, and Colquitt Counties that resulted in the seizure of three kilograms of cocaine, the recovery of ten firearms, $300,000.00 in cash and Seizure documents being filed on four properties in Cook and Tift counties.
State and federal law enforcement agencies worked together to bring this complex investigation to the federal court system. Agencies participating in this case include the following: GBI Sylvester, GBI Douglas, GBI Thomasville, Mid - South Narcotics Task Force, DEA Macon, Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Tift, Colquitt, Cook and Crisp County Sheriff’s Offices. The United States Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Georgia serves as the prosecutorial agency.
