Leary, GA – On Monday, September 18, 2017 at approximately 2:25 p.m., the GBI Sylvester Regional Office was requested by Calhoun County Chief Deputy David Mosely for assistance in a death investigation.  The request was made after Leary Police Chief LaKeisha Fleming responded to the residence at 3317 South Depot Street for a welfare check on Alex Simmons, Jr.  Simmons, age 77, was found deceased inside the residence.  

Autopsy results are pending at this time.
