Arrest Made in Clarkston Murder
Clarkston, GA – On Friday, March 17, 2017, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was requested by the Clarkston Police Department to assist with a murder investigation. On that date, an altercation involving three males occurred inside the Texaco gas station located at 3906 East Ponce De Leon Avenue in Clarkston, DeKalb County, Georgia. During the incident, Aung Oo, 27, of Clarkston and Ernest Tyrell Bing, 40, of Alpharetta were both shot. Bing later died from his wounds.
The investigation found that Mumin Hajiege, 29, of Grayson, Georgia, was the shooter. Hajiege was arrested on Thursday, October 12th at the Gwinnett County Jail where he was incarcerated on an unrelated charge. Hajiege has been charged with felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Hajiege is being held at the DeKalb County Jail.
The GBI and Clarkston Police Department were assisted in the case by the DeKalb County Police Department, Georgia Department of Community Supervision in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County Police Department, Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, and the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office.
