Emerson, Bartow County, GA (January 10, 2018) – On Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at approximately 8:00 am, the Emerson Police Department requested that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) assist with a death investigation involving an unidentified white male located on I-75 north bound within the city limits of Emerson, Georgia.  The GBI along with the Emerson Police Department, the Georgia State Patrol Cartersville Post, and the Georgia State Patrol SCRT team responded to the scene.  At this time, the identity of the decedent will not be released until the autopsy is performed and a positive identification can be made.  An autopsy is scheduled for January 11, 2018 at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office.  This case is being conducted as a death investigation until a determination of cause of death.
