GBI Makes Arrest in Death Investigation in Rhine, GA

Rhine, GA (November 18, 2019) – On Sunday, November 17, 2019, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the GBI Eastman Office with a death investigation that occurred just before midnight on November 16, 2019 at a residence located at 387 Mill Pond Road in Rhine, GA.

Initial investigation revealed that there was a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical altercation between Steven Frank Reaves and Dennis Henry Reaves, who are brothers. Steven Frank Reaves, in turn shot Dennis Henry Reaves. Dennis Reaves, age 49, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the shooting. The investigation led to the arrest of Steven Frank Reaves, age 61, of Rhine. Steven Frank Reaves is charged with one count of Malice Murder, one count of Felony Murder, and one count of Possession of Firearm During the Commission of Certain Crimes.
