Two Arrested in McDuffie County on Reckless Conduct & Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree Charges

Warrenton, GA (May 15, 2020) – On May 15th, 2020, the GBI  arrested Terry Kelley Jr, age 28, and Clarice Fife, age 31, both of Dearing, GA, and charged them with Reckless Conduct and Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree. Kelley and Fife were processed at the McDuffie County jail in Thomson, GA.  

On Friday, March 13th, 2020, at approximately 9:13 PM, the GBI was requested to assist the Warren County Sheriff’s Office with a shooting investigation at 1872 Ranger Road, Warrenton, GA, 30828.

Preliminary information revealed that the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1872 Ranger Road in Warrenton, GA, after receiving a 911 call indicating that a 5-year-old male juvenile had sustained a gunshot wound. The GBI responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the 5-year-old male juvenile was shot by his 3-year-old brother after handling a semi-automatic rifle that was pointed in the direction of the 5-year-old male juvenile. The 5-year-old male juvenile sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen and right arm and was transported to Augusta University Medical Center where he was treated and released within 48 hours. Kelley and Fife are the parents of the 5-year-old male juvenile that sustained the gunshot wound.

The case will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office of the Toombs Judicial Circuit for prosecution
