GBI Arrests Bronwood Man in Terrell County Double Homicide 

Bronwood, GA (October 18, 2023) – On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, the GBI and the Terrell County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Gary Milton Bailey III, age 27, of Bronwood, GA, with felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, exploitation and intimidation of elder person, and aggravated animal cruelty. The arrest is in connection to a shooting that took place in Bronwood, GA. 

On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at around 1:50 a.m., the GBI was requested by the Terrell County Sheriff’s Office to assist with a shooting investigation after Gary Milton Bailey, Sr, age 68, and Donna Sue Bailey, age 66, both of Bronwood, GA, were found dead inside of their home. Deputies responded to this location and found both victims had been shot multiple times. Deputies also found the couple’s pet cat dead with a gunshot wound. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on both victims at the GBI Crime Lab in Macon. 

Gary Bailey III is currently being held at the Terrell County Jail. 

The investigation is active and ongoing. Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Pataula Judicial Circuit for prosecution.
