GBI Arrests Milledgeville Fire Chief for Simple Battery

Milledgeville, GA (November 29, 2023) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested and charged Milledgeville Fire Department Chief William Taft Collier, Jr., age 57, of Fayetteville, GA with simple battery.

On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, the Milledgeville Police Department requested the GBI to assist with an investigation into an incident that occurred between Collier and a former fire department employee during a fundraiser at the Baldwin County High School Gymnasium on Sunday, October 22, 2023.

Collier was booked into the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
